The Kairos Foundation was created in the early 1990’s as a way to ensure a family inheritance would make an enduring impact for the common good.

Why did you decide to open a Venn Account?
Kairos initially opened a Venn Account to support a particular PRI. Additionally, it was a way for us to help advance the use of PRIs as a mechanism for achieving philanthropic impact. Without the help of Venn, Kairos would not have considered a PRI to the company, due to the administrative and regulatory costs associated with managing such investments as compared to grants made to 501(c)3 organizations.

What is one Venn PRI you are proud to have supported?
We are proud to have supported Venn’s PRI to Binary Bridge. After an extended in-depth engagement period with Binary Bridge, we were impressed with their potential to improve patient outcomes during mobile clinics in developing countries with a rugged medical records system. We wanted to provide early-stage, high-risk capital to advance the company’s work in achieving this charitable purpose.
