JBA Decorative
JBA Decorative is a full-service arts brand that delivers arts and wallcovering services to commercial businesses and governments around the world. Started in 2020, JBA Decorative’s mission is to demonstrate that minority and women artists can achieve long-term wealth through “artrepreneurship” as a viable path to economic equality.
JBA Decorative provides two distinct services. First, it provides public art through murals (~70% of its business). Second, it provides commercial painting, wallpaper installation and other decorative wall coverings (~30% of its business). Through the former, it makes art created by underrepresented persons available to members of their community that otherwise would not come in contact with visual arts. Through the second, it creates livable wage job pathways for minority persons and serves general contractors and government agencies in meeting their set-aside contracts and diversity targets. Combined, JBA Decorative models “artrepreneurship” to other underrepresented artists.
Venn’s PRI capital will provide JBA Decorative with concessionary working capital that assists it in positioning for further growth (e.g., intentional learning opportunities to gain knowledge with respect to bidding, estimating, establishing processes, hiring employees, etc.; hiring a part-time production manager and possibly a part-time estimator, implementing the use of a virtual assistant, updating its website with added functionality, budgeting for future jobs, and renting space). Through this growth, JBA Decorative will bring more livable wage jobs to minority persons and women.
The primary purpose of this PRI is to promote the arts as well as the social welfare by bringing economic mobility to and eliminating prejudice and discrimination against underrepresented persons, and especially those who seek livable wage jobs either as an artist or a commercial painter.
